Carmel pours her heart and soul into caring for her bees, making her products by hand and LOVES supporting beekeepers by sharing knowledge, providing education, running workshops and doing talks about bees with fun and delight.

The Story of CMG Honeybee
Carmel became fascinated by the yellow-and-black insects in 2012 after discovering a feral beehive the bungalow wall of a place she was renting.
Her landlord offered to send out an exterminator, but instead Carmel asked if she could keep the hive once it was removed.
She found a mentor in Sunshine beekeeper Angela Cassela, who taught her how to collect swarms.
“I collected one swarm and another one, and the hunger for knowledge grew as well as my love of bees,”
At the time, she was working at Yarraville West Primary School, with staff often asking her for honey. Carmel became inspired to turn her hobby into a profession in 2016.
She spent two seasons working for another beekeeper, then went on to set up her own business, CMG Honeybee in 2019.
Carmel now offers small batch, hand crafted, Western Suburb raw honey and beeswax, education in childcare centres, schools & community groups talks, workshops and some 1:1 coaching.
Carmel is founding member & currently President of Melbourne's Western suburbs Werribee beekeeper’s group, Werribeeks Inc and also an online co-host with Hive Buddy on the monthly Hive Buddy Show.
Carmel has a joyous, passionate, heart centred approach, who also LOVES collecting different types of honeys from all over.
